FX Series Butt Fusion Machine Clamp Configuration
In the FX series butt fusion machines, clamp configurations vary by machine size.
Sizes up to 315
For FX series models up to 315,
the machine typically uses two to three clamp blocks.
In this size range, pipe diameter and weight are relatively small.
This clamp setup is sufficient for pipe holding and alignment during welding.
Sizes 355 and above
When the machine size reaches 355 and above,
the clamp configuration changes.
The number of clamp blocks increases,
forming a full-circle clamp arrangement made up of multiple clamp sizes.
From the outside, the clamps are arranged closely together,
with very little visible gap between them.
Why the clamp configuration changes
As pipe size increases,
pipe weight and clamping requirements also increase.
Using more clamp blocks allows the pipe to contact the clamps more evenly,
which helps keep the pipe stable during loading and alignment.
Note on configuration
This clamp setup is not designed for a single model.
It is the standard clamp configuration used across the FX series for sizes 355 and above.
